DEAR DR. FOX: I have two female dachshunds, ages 2 and 3. The 2-year-old, Emma, is very overweight. Both receive the same amount of food each day, and they spend much of the day chasing squirrels in the back yard. Emma is still 7 pounds more than her suggested weight limit.
Also, she eats money! I know it is not unusual for a dog to shred tissue or newspaper, but she gets money out of my purse (and money from other family members) and eats it.
