FED:Abbott simply wanted power: Windsor=2

Asked if that comment was made in a "general sense", Mr Windsor agreed.

The revelation seemed to suggest Australians would have been facing a carbon tax even
if Mr Abbott had won power.

However, the opposition immediately and fiercely opposed the tax when Prime Minister
Julia Gillard announced her intentions last week.

Mr Windsor was speaking at the release of new research on the regional and rural impact
of carbon pricing.
